3 Must-Attend UPenn Entrepreneurship Events This Week
VC Giants, Broadway Legends & Trailblazing Conferences: This Week at the University of Pennsylvania
I’m truly fortunate to serve as Co-President of the Wharton Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Club, which has a spectacular line-up of exciting events happening this week.
Given that this marks the beginning of my second week back on campus at the University of Pennsylvania, I thought it would be a great idea to share some of the amazing events that are happening on campus this week for our entrepreneurship community.
If you're an entrepreneur at UPenn looking to build connections, gain insights, and push your startup to the next level, this week is packed with events that are must-attend. Whether you’re seeking advice from industry leaders, learning from successful VCs and entrepreneurs, or gearing up for the opportunity to pitch your startup and raise your next funding round, these events are the perfect chance to engage and grow.
Here are three game-changing opportunities happening this week:
1. Fireside Chat with Josh Kopelman, Founder of First Round Capital
Josh Kopelman is a name that needs no introduction. As a pioneer in early-stage investing, Josh co-founded First Round Capital—the VC firm that’s backed disruptive companies like Uber, Warby Parker, and Notion. His track record speaks volumes about his ability to spot potential and foster the growth of companies that shape industries.
On March 25th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in JMHH G60, Josh will hold a fireside chat to share his insights on early-stage investing, what it takes to scale a startup, and the evolving landscape of venture capital. This is an unmissable opportunity to learn from one of the most influential venture capitalists of our time.
Whether you’re building a tech startup, exploring new markets, or simply passionate about the world of venture funding, this is the perfect chance to ask questions, gain insider knowledge, and hear firsthand how Josh has helped shape the startup ecosystem.
2. Fireside Chat with Mark Kaufman, EVP of Warner Bros Theatre Ventures
On March 28th, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 pm, Mark Kaufman, the Executive Vice President of Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, will be gracing us with a conversation that promises to inspire entrepreneurs with a passion for entertainment, media, and creative industries.
Mark has worked on major Broadway hits like Beetlejuice and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and played a key role in productions like Elf and The Notebook. His perspective on how the entertainment world has evolved and the business behind those iconic productions will undoubtedly provide valuable lessons for entrepreneurs and individuals looking to navigate the entertainment and creative sectors.
Expect candid insights on how to bring a creative vision to life, the challenges of large-scale productions, and the intersection of entrepreneurship with show business.
3. NGEN’S Inter-Ivy League Trailblazers Conference
For any ambitious entrepreneur, the Trailblazers Conference is a golden opportunity. Hosted by NGEN, this event will bring together some of the brightest minds in entrepreneurship, venture capital, and tech for an exciting 2-day event on April 11th and 12th in New York City. If you’re looking to connect with fellow university students, leading entrepreneurs, and top investors, the conference is the place to be.
The lineup of speakers is world-class: Geoff Ralston, former President of Y-Combinator; global executives from companies like TikTok, Snapchat, IBM, and more; and top investors and start-up founders who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
With panels, workshops, networking sessions, and a student startup showcase, this conference is designed to help you refine your pitch, gain insights from industry experts, and build connections that will last a lifetime.
These three events offer an unparalleled opportunity to connect with industry leaders, learn from those who’ve built and scaled successful businesses, and take your entrepreneurial journey to the next level.
